As the largest FREE literary festival on earth, the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival brings together some of the greatest thinkers and writers from across South Asia and the world.

From Nobel laureates to local language writers, Man Booker prize winners to debut novelists, every January the most remarkable, witty, sensitive and brilliant collection of authors come together for five days of readings, debates and discussions at the beautiful Diggi Palace in the Rajasthani capital.

JLF, which began in 2006, is now regarded as a cultural catalyst within India and around the world, exposing audiences to a constant flow of ideas. Featuring live music sessions and interactive workshops, the Festival provides a space to dare, dream and imagine.

Book Launch Memories

Simar Malhotra's book "There Is A Tide" published by Rupa Publications was succesfully launched by Padma Bhushan Javed Akhtar Sahab on September 9th, 2014 at The Oberoi, New Delhi. Padma Shri Ashok Chakradhar ji, Smt. Kiran Walia ji - eminent politician, Mr. Vineet Joshi - Chairman, C.B.S.E. and eminent educationist Dr. Jayshree Periwal were also present to bless the debutant author.

The unveiling of the book was followed by press interviews and deliverance of speeches by prominent personalities as well as the author. In his address to the audience, Javed Akhtar ji heaped praises on the author, saying that her book “is not just a novel. It is a statement from the younger generation, from young India. It is a statement that all that is ugly, all that is unjust, all that is unfair is not acceptable.”

The event came to a close with Simar signing copies of her book for all who graced the occasion.
