The partition of the British Indian Empire was one of the greatest tragedies of the world. It was a defining moment in history that massively impacted the lives of the people of both countries, the newly created India and Pakistan. The partition also resulted in the displacement of around 15 million Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims, who migrated between the two countries. As a result of this forced migration, people were uprooted from their homelands, leaving them with scarred hearts and minds. And those who survived the tragedy and are now the residents of India and Pakistan, are struggling to put up with the pain.
